Meeting Someone Pretty

I was in my finest bathing suit ready to go swimming. The summer sun was baking on my skin and it was a good thing I had put sunscreen on. I looked around for a place to set my towel and did so at a spt that I deemed worthy. I sat down on the towel for a few and started to relax. I had had a hard day at the Academy. So far I didn't really know much of anybody and I really wanted to get to know some people. I sat there patiently.

Carlen was walking around the beach, bored out of her mind. She had nothing to do today. Nothing at all. So she decided a small swim on the beach would be something better to do than nothing. The daughter of Dionysus wore a seriously large t-shirt that covered most of her body, but under that there was short swimming shorts and a bikini top. Carlen was carrying a beach towel in her hand and her booked hair was pulled back into a pony tail. Excluding her bangs of course.
Finally getting to a nice spot, she dropped her things on the sand and took off her shirt. Carlen made her way over to the salty waters, but she was oblivious to the other person who was there besides her.

I looked at the girl as she came by. She did look absolutely amazing. I figured why not go talk to her. I stood up and walked over to her saying, "Hello, my name is Susie. Who might you be?" I waited for a response. Normally if a person was rude or mean they would just ignore me. I hoped she was none of these things because she did look really nice.

Carlen heard a voice behind her, and she turned around quickly. Standing there, was a seriously beautiful girl, probably around her own age. "Carlen," she said simply. [cookie=#336699]"Carlen Lawre, daughter of Dionysus."[/color] This was an odd change of character. Normally, Carlen would ignore people when it came being friendly, but for some reason she didn't want to be mean to Susie. Weird, huh?
Carlen walked closer to her and brushed her bangs away from her eyes before Golding he hand out for a handshake.

I smiled at Carlen and took her hand gently. I shook it and then let go saying, "I get the feeling you don't talk to people very often. Why not?" I wondered why such a pretty girl didn't have people clinging to her to be her friend.

Carlen shook her hand gently. She has some seriously soft skin. When Susie asked her a question, Carlen simply shrugged. "Oh the usual reason, I know they think I'm a freak and stuff like that, the usual," she said lazily. Carlen sat don in the shallow water of the beach. She felt the waves crash onto her back. It felt nice. "So who are you the daughter of Susie? Wait, lemme take a wild guess. . . Aphrodite right?" Carlen smiled. She hoped she was right. She probably was, because someone that beautiful just had to be the daughter of beauty.

I giggled and said, "Nope, but I'm flattered that you think that about me." This was evident in the way I blushed. I then told her, "Nope I'm actually a daughter of Hecate. The only thing is that I don't know anything about what happens at night or if there even is a night. I mean I've heard of the night time before but never actually seen it... It's quite sad really. It's like during that time something weird happens and then the next thing I know it's the next day." I sat down with her in the water. Why I was sharing this much information about my personal life with her even though I just met her I had no idea. Something inside of me just said I could trust her.

Carlen laughed. Well, Hecate had seriously pretty daughters that's for sure. When Susie suddenly started to talk about how she's never seen night, the daughter of Dionysus became extremely interested. Carlen listened intently at what Susie said. It was weird, and Carlen wanted to know why Susie never saw night. "That's odd, night happens every single day, just after the sun sets," Carlen told her. Wether or not Susie blacks out just before sunset or she simply just looses her memory every night, Carlen wanted to know why.

I looked at Carlen and nodded saying, "That's what I've heard. I also have noticed that even though my mom is the goddess of magic, I can only perform white magic. I can't do anything like cause people harm or change them into things. I can only heal people and make things look pretty like make it snow or make flowers appear out of nowhere." My powers were really weird and I had always though so. I always wished that I could have one night where I was able to be there and not be sucked away to god knows where. The sun was already starting to set and I hadn't even met this girl ten minutes ago but I really wanted to get to know her more.

Carlen looked at the sky and noticed that the sun was almost setting. "Don't worry, Susie, I'll help you out with this situation," she said. "I'll stay up all night with you if I have to." What came out of Carlen's mouth surprised even herself. She hadn't been this kind to someone since- well, a long time ago. But something about Susie made her feel this way. Something special about Susie.

As the sun set on the horizon my clothing began to change to my night time apparel. (Check profile for description) My personality changed as well as a darker side came over me. I looked at the girl and said, "Uh... do I know you?" I was confused as to why I was sitting with this girl I didn't even know, granted she was quite hot. Let alone sitting with her in the ocean allowing all my clothing to get wet. I got up and got out of the water so that I wouldn't get splashed even more by the waves. I said to the girl, "Well come on, then. Walk with me. I want to know more about you, mystery person."

When the sun set, Karis noticed the somehow Susie changed clothes and she could tell her personality was different. Carlen stared at her for a minute before getting up out of the water. Carlen grabbed her towel and dried herself before answering her. "The name's Carlen," she said as simply as she did the first time. Carlen slipped on the large t-shirt and her sandals before walking over to Susie. Carlen draped the towel over her shoulders before turning to Susie. "So it's Susie, right " Carlen asked doubtfully.

I raised an eyebrow at the girl who addressed herself as Carlen. I said to her, "Yes... but how do you know my name? I've never met you before in my life..." I looked at her curiously. How much more did this girl know about me?

Carlen shook her head. Pieces of the puzzle were starting to come together for her. Looking at Susie, she just shrugged. Carlen noticed that she was probably thinking another thought too. "Oh and the two other things that I know about you is that you're a daughter of Hecate and you have a completely different personality that you don't know and/or remember that lives in day while you live at night," she said casually. Calen started to walk ahead, glancing over her shoulder to see if Susie was following too.

I ran to catch up with Carlen. I looked at her while we walked and said, "Hey, listen, could we go get some drinks. There's a bar I know of close by here. We could get some free drinks and talk about each other. I'd like to know more about what you call this other personality you saw in me." Somewhere deep inside of my being my other personality was starting to see through but it wasn't able to see through my being she could only feel emotions that I might be feeling and right now I was quite interested in Carlen.

Carlen nodded her head. "Yeah, sure why not?" she said. But then she noticed her clothes. It wouldn't be very appropriate to go to a bar in an overly large t-shirt and only swim suits under that. "One second," Carlen said to Susie. The daughter of Dionysus ran over to a vine wall just a few yards away. She went behind it and waved her hand over the grapes. The grapes turned to clothes from her very own closet. Carlen smirked. This trick sure did come in handy. After changing, Carlen came out in ripped skinny jeans, a dark blue "Hard Rock Cafe" t-shirt, and black high-top converse. Her hair was still in a ponytail but Carlen slid off the tie and let her hair fall. "Let's go," Carlen said, smiling.

I smirked and walked with her to the bar. I talked to the bartender and said, "Two Margaritas." The bartender nodded and went to go get them. When he came back I sat down and waited for Carlen to sit down as well. I took a sip of mine and smiled at her. She really was beautiful.

Carlen sat down next to Susie. Taking a sip of her margarita, she stared at her. Carlen gave a small smile before talking. "So you know nothing about you other personality right? Other than the fact that it's during the day, right?" Carlen asked. She didn't wait for answers. "Well, what I think is that you're the same person just living two different lives with two different personalities. One in night and one in day, I don't know how it makes sense but in my head it sounds so much better," Carlen said awkwardly.

I nodded feeling that what she was saying made sense and took another sip of my drink. I said to her, "No it makes perfect sense. It would explain why I can't remember anything that ever happens during the day. However, how can I change the fact that I have no control over the change? I mean it's kind of annoying having my mind go blank every time at the end of the night and then not knowing what I've been doing during the day the following day." I wondered how I could change this. If it was possible maybe I could also somehow link both of my personalities memories together and practically become one person just me being the more tough girl side and my other side being the more delicate side. Hmm, I took another sip and then got a refill when I was done. I began drinking that one as well while I waited for her response.

Carlen sighed deeply. This was just so... What's the word? Confusing. Yeah, that's it. She took a sip of her margarita before replying Susie. "Well, maybe we could. . ." Carlen's voice faded after she realized she got nothing. The daughter of Dionysus was practically banging her head trying to think of something. "Ugh! I hate it when I don't have any ideas!" Carlen almost banged her head on the table.

I thought about what might be a solution. There were times when I could almost swear I felt another presence inside of me. I just wasn't sure it was real but now that I knew it was real maybe I could do something. I said to Carlen, "I'm going to try something. If anything bad starts happening I want you to bring me back to consciousness okay?" I was putting my trust in Carlen. If this worked perhaps I could be a whole person instead of two seperate people not knowing the other's memories.

Carlen frowned. "What are you going to do first?" she asked. She was worried about Susie. What if something happened to her? Carlen wouldn't be able to live win herself if Susie got hurt under her watch. She drank a little bit more of margarita before asking again. "What are you planning to do, Susie?"

I looked at Carlen and said, "For a while now I've noticed something like another presence inside of me but I can't contact it at all. I'm going to to try to go within myself and perhaps I'll be able to meld with it and become a whole person rather than two totally different people. Will you help me?"

Carlen smiled. Wow, that's new. "Of course I'll help you!" she exclaimed. Rather loudly too. People at the bar were staring at her now. She rolled her eyes and glared at them. "Mind you own business," she said. They did. Carlen then turned to Susie and smiled. "What do you need me to do?"

I told her, "You're job is rather simple. If at any point anything bad starts happening all you need to do is wake me up any way you can, okay? I don't expect anything bad will happen but just in case." I waited for her response and then I would begin my attempt.
